English language challenges

It is very difficult to assess the size of the learning that the university brings to my knowledge of english, but I think that I have experienced some progress because I believe that right now I can read and understand the English language better. Sadly, my english classes during all my way during the university was under online modality thanks to the situation detonate by the  pandemic emergency. Considering this, as many of my classmates thinks, online modality took us away many advantages we had, like more teacher presence and direct feedback, practice and work with classmates. And as a personal disadvantage, i more difficult to find concentration to put attention during the sessions.  I don't know if in the pre-pandemic program there was the "blogs" as recurrent activities but, i think this are excellent tools to put in practice some english skills. Also, in most cases, are funny to write it and read it when the themes of the blogs are interesting.  I ...

Some changes that i could do of my study programme

Welcome again! this time i will write a bit about changes that i think my career have to implement. Yo will not have to read to much of my complaints because i don't have too much of them. Instead, this time i will talk  more about suggestions, i guess. My first criticism of the study programme is directed at the multiple subjects that are mere copies of a previous one. I know very well that the path of knoledge, in any kind of study programme, are designed to move from the general subjects to the particular ones. I feel this does not happen in my carrer. Many contents are constantly repeated with minimal or barely noticeable changes to have more than one semester dedicated to them. in my opinion this happens with "montage". Another complaint, but this time is more personal. I really prefer  complicated subject because i tend to learn more than in subjects with little class content. And i don't say it like a self-satisfied person, i've been expelled from a career ...

Time travel to the future

In general when i try to see to the future, in long term, i don't get a good picture. I think about the too slow change of geopolitical powers and world economy, and how this two factors impact subdeveloped countries and slows its progress. Of course, this concern also includes global warming, whose irreversible damages, at this point, are a terrible truth to face. But, i have other kinds of curiosity about the future, a little more fun to think about, and that are the ones i wanna share. I'd like to see how in 100 or 200 years from this point humanity will be link to tecnology. Maybe digital tecnologhy will be integred to the human brain to avoid the screans and mecanical interactions with devices. In this way will be more practical and will could end with the constant replacement of mobile equipment, that also pollutes a lot! This in some way will allow to send content and commands we wish to consume betwen devices with our thoughts. Other ideas that appear in my mind when ...

My future job

Well, right now i'm studying "cine y televisión", but in the last week, and to be honest, since many years i was looking  the journalism with particular interest. I am one of the kind of person who yell to the screen when i hear fake news, disinformation or quite debatable opinions. I know, is well known the role of public media defending the status quo and hegemonic powers, but i cannot simply take it. It makes me very angry and has long ago made me hate this profession. Later than early, i could recognize the importance of investigative journalism who have given his rightful respect, although dependent journalism dishonor the profession all the time, the painful reality cannot be hide over the carpet. In this way, thanks to all revelations that lately bring us the independent journalism, i've been fantasizing with a future were i'm a journalist who help to reveal political scandals or criminal practices within the economic powers, and contribute to build an ecos...

Hi everyone. Well for this post i don't have anything in mind to write and i don't really want to give it a lot of thought, so i just will try to trow a few ideas about a movies saga that recently i saw on tv. Yesterday, accompanied by my mom and grandmom, we were watching a few titles of the movies based in the life of Yip Kai-Man, mostly knowing as Ip Man, the grandmaster of Wing Chun and teacher of Bruce Lee. I think these part of the history is generally know so i keep my way and i will tell you some question this movie leave having around in my mind, and with a little bit of luck someone can tell his thoughts too. In think the principal objective of the movies is communicate the link between the Kung Fu and the chinese ideals rooted in Confucianism. Well in that way i'am not sure if i catch that ideas of chinese ideals. In one hand, it's obviosly that Master Ip Man embodies some kind of stoicism, modesty and life balance, but in the other, i think that could be a i...

An important topic for my future career

I think a important topic for all of film students is filmmaker preferences. And by my side, one of the filmmaker who i most admired is, without a doubt, Emir Kusturica. He is a director who was born in 1954 in Yugoslavia, within a Muslim-Bosnian family. His college studies was taken at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, debuting in 1981 with his first film  Do You Remember Dolly Bell?  During his life he has filmed many movies and documentary films, even winning the connoted  Golden Palm two times, but  personally speaking all this achievements in themselves are meaningless to me without the steady ideals who makes his films special. Many of Kusturica's movies introduce to the viewer the rich ethnical identity in Balkan Peninsula and a t ough opposition of the western intervention during the Yugoslav Wars. In his films he accuses the economic| and geopolitical  interest who drive that country into  consecutive separations of their i...

The best concert ever

I haven't go to many concert in my life. At least, if we are talking about paid concerts. To my good fortune, many favorites band i follow usually offer public presentations or they take part in open acces public events. In that sense i have been able to see many times bands like Los Jaivas, Quilapayún and Inti-Illimani. Well, the concert that i want to share this time took part in a day that i remember fondly for many reasons. But getting to the point, after drink some beers with friends in a bar called St. Patrick and a little nap at plaza Brasil, i go to the final day of a folkloric music festival taking place at Sala Isidora Zegers of the Universidad de Chile. During that afternoon many musicians play on the stage and i had the opportunity to listen many original musical projects, but the highlight of the festival, without doubts, was the presentation of Quilapayún. Because of the size of the concert hall you could hear some instruments even without amplification so ...
